Hazaribag Fire Destroys Rs 10 Lakh Goods in Banaso Village House

Hazaribag: Goods worth around Rs 10 lakh were reduced to ashes after a fire broke out in a house located at Banaso village in Hazaribag district on Wednesday, police said.Sources said eight traders from West Bengal had been living in the house on rent for the past 12 years.The traders were engaged in selling quilts, mattresses, cushions, chairs and other household items. They used the rented house to store their stock and would leave every morning with goods for sale in different localities.At the time of the incident, four traders had gone out for selling goods, while two others were sitting outside the house.Suddenly, a fire broke out and engulfed the entire house, they added.Officer in-charge (OC) of the Vishnugarh police station, Sapan Kumar Mahatha, said, “No casualties were reported in the incident, but the affected traders have suffered loss of around Rs 10 lakh. Short circuit might have caused the fire.”
