Hazaribag: Two persons have been arrested and a juvenile detained in connection with the stabbing of a person during Ram Navami procession in Hazaribag last month, who died during treatment on Sunday, police said on Monday.Vishnugarh SDPO Vaijyanath Prasad said that the incident took place at Daru Chowk on March 27. A case was registered in this connection at Daru police station on April 1. Victim Gulab Kumar Saw was initially taken to private hospital and later referred to Rims in Ranchi. “He died on Sunday,” he said.Prasad said that the main accused, Akash Kumar, 21, was arrested on Saturday and sent to judicial custody. Further investigation led to the arrest of another accused and detention of a 17-year-old.During interrogation, the accused said that Saw got involved in an altercation with them after stepping out of the procession. The situation escalated when Akash, a resident of Basobar village, along with Vishal Kumar, 25, of Bakshidih, and the juvenile, allegedly attacked Saw.Prasad said, “Vishal and the minor caught hold of Saw, while Karan repeatedly stabbed him with a sharp knife. As a crowd gathered, the knife was snatched from the accused, following which they fled the scene.”The SDPO said the juvenile was sent to a correctional home.
