Kerala: Man arrested for sexually abusing 16-year-old boy

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Police arrested a man on Friday for allegedly sexually abusing a 16-year-old boy in Thampanoor area of Thiruvananthapuram.
The accused, identified as Naseer, hails from Kannur district.
According to the police, the boy had ran away from his home and reached the city by train. Naseer, who works as a costume designer, lured the boy by offering him a job as his assistant.Naseer's friend Haneefa, also a costume designer, was also involved in the crime.
They took the boy to a lodge at Thampanoor, where they gave him food and alcohol and then sexually abused him.
When the police tracked down the boy based on the missing complaint filed by his parents, he revealed his ordeal to them.
The police had managed to arrest Haneefa in March this year. Naseer, too was tracked down and arrested by a team led by sub-inspector KL Sampath from Kottayam district. He was produced before the court and was sent to judicial custody.
