Thiruvananthapuram: Nemom police here on Saturday arrested a 29-year-old man on charges of stalking. The police identified the accused as Sujith S Nair of Muttathara.
The police said that the accused was arrested based on a complaint filed by a young woman residing at Nemom. She alleged in her complaint that the accused was stalking her constantly. He also threatened her on a few occasions after blocking her way on the road when she ignored his advances.
The accused had gone absconding and remained untraceable for several days after the police registered a case. He was tracked down and arrested by a team of police led by Nemom sub inspectors Vipin and Prasad.
Police said the accused was a habitual offender, who was also involved in another case registered under
Pocso Act at Pettah police station for allegedly sexually harassing a minor girl. The accused was produced before the court and remanded in judicial custody.
