BHU to host farmers fair & agri industry exhibition on March 7
Varanasi: The Institute of Agricultural Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, is organising a Farmers' Fair-cum-Agricultural Industry exhibition and workshop on March 7 and 8 on the theme ‘Viksit Krishi- Samarth Bharat'. Various institutions, farmer-producer organisations, govt and non-govt organisations will participate by setting up stalls and exhibiting their technologies.The institute's director Uday Pratap Singh said that through this event, modern agricultural technologies and scientific information will be disseminated among farmers, entrepreneurs, extension workers, and students. Quality seeds, planting material, fertilisers, bio-fertilisers, agricultural machinery, and other agricultural inputs will also be displayed and made available, along with related technical guidance. Special workshops are also planned to facilitate interaction between scientists, farmers, and entrepreneurs.

Major attractions of the fair include natural farming, protected cultivation and resource conservation technologies, production, processing, and packaging of coarse cereals (millets), farmer producer organisations, exhibition and sale of modern farm equipment, agro-chemicals and literature, use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in agriculture, and visits to agricultural research facilities.
This programme invites participation from regional research institutions, universities, ICAR institutes, govt/semi-govt/non-govt organisations, farmer producer groups, agri-input and marketing companies, progressive farmers, rural women, youth, and extension workers.
