BRICS culture meet in Kashi on June 4–5

TNNVaranasi: The holy city of Varanasi is going to host a two-day meeting of the culture working group under BRICS on June 4 and 5 in which guests are to arrive in four groups.India is this year hosting meetings of BRICS nations and partner countries, including Brazil, China, India, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Indonesia, Russia, South Africa and the United Arab Emirates, under the theme "Building for Resilience, Innovation, Collaboration and Sustainability."A meeting was held at the commissionery auditorium under the chairmanship of divisional commissioner S Rajalingam and Priyanka Chandra, director, ministry of culture, govt of India, on Thursday regarding preparations for hosting and organizing the upcoming culture working group under the BRICS summit. Officers from various departments participated in the meeting and held detailed discussions on the event framework, reception of guests, cultural presentations, security arrangements, traffic management and other logistics.The divisional commissioner directed the concerned officers to ensure that all arrangements for the event are completed in a timely and organized manner, so as to effectively showcase Varanasi's cultural heritage and tradition of hospitality. He said that the cultural events to be organized under the BRICS summit will provide an opportunity to present Kashi's rich cultural identity on a global platform.Officers from the tourism department, culture department, municipal corporation, Public Works Department, police administration and other related departments were present at the meeting. They presented information regarding preparations related to the venue, transportation, sanitation, lighting arrangements, and guest facilities. The divisional commissioner directed all departments to work in mutual coordination and complete all preparations within the stipulated deadline.The meeting was attended by district magistrate Satyendra Kumar, additional police commissioner Shivhari Meena, vice-chairman of the development authority Purna Bora, municipal commissioner Himanshu Nagpal, ADM administration Pankaj Kumar, ADM city Rajesh G., ADM protocol Vinay Kumar, ADM FR Sadanand Gupta, SDM Pindra Pratibha Mishra along with officers from related departments.
