Vijayawada: Former minister and YSRCP leader Vidadala Rajani surrendered her passport to the Narasaraopet DSP office in Palnadu district on Sunday, following directions issued by the AP high court in connection with an SC/ST atrocities case registered against her.According to police sources, a case under the SC and ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act was earlier registered at the Chilakaluripet police station based on a complaint filed by TDP leader Pilli Koti. Along with Rajani, several others were also named in the case.As part of the ongoing legal proceedings, the high court directed Rajani to surrender her passport before the authorities. Acting on the court’s orders, she appeared at the Narasaraopet DSP office and handed over the passport to DSP Hanumantha Rao on Sunday.The development has sparked political discussion in Palnadu district, as the case involves a prominent leader of the opposition YSR Congress Party. While Rajani has not made any detailed public statement on the issue, party circles indicated that she would cooperate fully with the investigation and legal process.Police officials stated that further investigation into the allegations is underway and that all procedures are being carried out as per court directions. The case has gained political significance in the region, with leaders from rival parties closely watching the developments.
