PD Act invoked against two red sanders smugglers in Tirupati
Tirupati: The Preventive Detention (PD) Act was invoked against two notorious red sanders smugglers identified as Syed Firoz and Rajasekhar. According to Red Sanders Anti-Smuggling Task Force SP L Subbarayudu, the PD Act is being invoked on repeated offenders who got involved in organised red sanders smuggling activities despite being jailed multiple times in the past. "Syed Firoz is from Karnataka and Rajasekhar is from Chittoor. The duo were involved in multiple red sanders smuggling cases in the past. Since they continued to pledge support for smuggling activities, the task force recommended that the PD Act be invoked on the duo to the Tirupati district collector Dr S Venkateshwar," the Tirupati SP added.
