Wedding halted after grooms brother dies of electrocution in Vizianagaram district

Visakhapatnam: A wedding in Mirthivalasa village of Santhakaviti mandal in Vizianagaram district was halted on Friday after the bridegroom's elder brother, a software professional, died of electrocution. The deceased was identified as Ponnada Satish (32).As per reports, Satish accidentally came in contact with the electric cable of the decorative lights for his brother's marriage while drying clothes on the terrace of his house on Friday morning.The family members and relatives who noticed him lying unconscious on the terrace immediately shifted him to a hospital in Srikakulam town, where the doctors declared that he was brought dead.The locals said Satish was a software professional in Hyderabad and his marriage was held with Mounika around nine months ago.Satish, along with his wife Mounika, came to his hometown Mirthivalasa around 10 days ago for the arrangements of his younger brother Deepak Kumar's marriage, which was scheduled on Friday night.The atmosphere at the wedding house in the village turned into grief, with family members and relatives of Satish in deep shock. The incident raised concerns about safety precautions during marriage arrangements.Sub-Inspector of Police Gopala Rao registered a case and handed over the body to the family members following the post-mortem procedure.
