VIJAYAWADA: A woman went on an indefinite hunger strike outside Narayana School in Moghalrajapuram on Friday, alleging that the school management harassed her son, a Class 9 student, over failure to pay school fees.
Sunitha held a placard which read: “The fee regulatory committee should cover corporate schools with parents included as stakeholders.”
Sunitha said she had sought more time to pay the fee but the management by threatening to issue transfer certificate (TC) to her son.
Students Federation of India (SFI) and other activists offered support to her cause but police convinced her to end the strike on the assurance that a meeting would be arranged with district education department to address her concerns.
