More than 18 special parties would be pressed into action as police expect a large number of people and leaders of various parties and organizations during the rally.
The JAC leaders supported by YSRCP have announced that nearly one lakh people would attend the rally.
“They are making arrangements. With a gathering of 30,000 to 40,000 people, it would be a great success. If it crosses 50,000, then Vizag will definitely get capital status soon,” one of the senior leaders in YSRCP commented.
When contacted, the Vizag City Police Commissioner Ch Srikanth said that they have been preparing for alternative routes for the convenience of the public during the rally.
“Emergency services would be available as we are anticipating more people’s participation and congestion of roads. As per the organizers, one lakh people would attend and we are taking measures based on that number,” Srikanth said.
Sources said that JAC supported by YSRCP has been focussing on a massive gathering. YSRCP leaders are prepared to bring around 5,000 members from each of the seven assembly constituencies in Visakhapatnam.
