Sivaji Ganesan gave 50,000 rupees towards the installation of an Ambedkar statue in Kodambakkam in 1971, and he also financially supported the installation of the Veerapandiya Kattabomman statue, to help retain the cultural memory of the national hero he made famous.Sivaji Ganesan was among the first to provide relief and sustenance during natural disasters, such as floods and storms, helping everyone in distress receive some immediate help. His offer to support in a quiet and accounted for manner earned him respect well beyond movie theatre doors.
