The actor was sporting a handlebar moustache similar to the one he had in the film ‘Singam’. In no time, the pictures and videos took the internet by storm. The immense success also attracted the attention of Bollywood, and the film was remade in Hindi as ‘Singham’ with Ajay Devgn in the lead role.

All about ‘Suriya 47’

Suriya is set to play the lead role of a cop in the upcoming film ‘Suriya 47’. The film is helmed by Jithu Madhavan, best known for his Malayalam directorials ‘Romancham’ and ‘Aavesham’. The upcoming film marks his Tamil debut. Nazriya Nazim is playing the female lead in the film. Actor Naslen, best known for his role in ‘Lokah’, is also part of the film. The film is also listed on Netflix's slate for 2026, however, the makers are yet to announce the release date. “A serious crime hunt with a not so serious team. Suriya 47, is coming to Netflix after its theatrical release, in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada,” the streaming giant said.
