Ram Gopal Varma to helm a biopic on legendary actor NTR

Filmmaker Ram Gopa Varma announced that he is making a biopic on Telugu Desam Party (TDP) founder Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao and also released a song sung by himself. In an audio released along with the song on his personal website, Varma praised NTR as the most popular political leader in India and that he was a diehard fan of the actor-turned-politician. In the audio message, RGV has explained his tryst with the legendary icon and how he had walked miles to see NTR's classic film ‘Adavi Ramudu’. RGV also stated that he was one among the crowd who went to see NTR during his announcement of political entry. "I was one among the lakhs of people who turned up to hear him speak after founding TDP in 1983 and now I feel proud to be able to make a film on NTR who made Telugus raise their head with pride.” he said. NTR's actor son, Hindupur MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna had also announced a biopic on his late father a few months back. It is not yet clear whether Varma's film and Balakrishna's project are one and the same.
