Sobhita Dhulipala reveals the biggest takeaway from ‘Cheekatilo’: ‘That mindset, of asking uncomfortable questions’

Sobhita Dhulipala-starrer thriller ‘Cheekatilo’ is heading for release on January 23. She plays the role of a true crime podcaster in the film. The trailer of the film was launched recently and grabbed the eyeballs of movie buffs, as well as industry insiders, including Anurag Kashyap. Sobhita Dhulipala has now opened up about what attracted her to the role. Sobhita Dhulipala plays the role of Sandhya, a true crime podcaster. Sandhya’s journey is far from sensationalism. The actor has expressed why she was drawn towards the character. “I see Sandhya as a natural leader, not because she is fearless, but because she doesn’t let uncertainty decide her actions. There’s a quiet decisiveness to her. She’s driven by the need for clarity rather than validation, and that steadiness is what ultimately moves the story forward,” Sobhita said in a statement. Sobhita Dhulipala also added that the biggest takeaway from the role was the mindset of asking uncomfortable questions and staying solid even when uncertainty hits. “What interested me was the responsibility inherent to the role. Sandhya isn’t chasing drama; she’s chasing clarity. That mindset of asking uncomfortable questions and remaining steady in uncertainty is something I carried forward from this experience,” she added. Directed by Sharan Kopishetty, ‘Cheekatilo’ is written by Chandra Pemmaraju and Sharan Kopishetty. Touted to be a crime thriller, the film has Sobhita Dhulipala and Viswadev Rachakonda in the lead roles.
