South Korea eases restrictions as virus cases drop
South Korea has reported its lowest daily virus tally in about a month as it began easing its tough social distancing rules in the greater Seoul area. The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency said on Monday that the 109 new cases added in the past 24 hours took the country's total to 22,285 with 363 deaths. It's the 12th consecutive day for South Korea's daily jump to stay in the 100s. The 109 additional cases are also the lowest daily tally since mid-August.

Jharkhand reports 1,014 new Covid-19 cases, 13 fresh fatalities
Jharkhand's Covid-19 caseload rose to 61,474 on Monday as 1,014 more people tested positive for the infection, while 13 fresh fatalities pushed the state's coronavirus death toll to 555, a health bulletin said. The fresh infections have taken the number of active cases to 14,336, while 46,583 people have been cured of the disease so far, it said.

As against 8,069 fatalities and a growth of 14.5% during the week, deaths in the previous week had risen by 1.7% with a count of 7,050. According to data released by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), spending under credit cards in June 2020 was Rs 42,818 crore, which was 36% lower than Rs 67,000 crore in January 2020. On the other hand, debit card spends stood at Rs 47,252 crore, which was only 24% lower than Rs 62,153 pre-Covid.

Patients are advised to constantly monitor their health and look for early warning signs, such as drop in oxygen level or unexplained chest pain. It also recommends physical exercise and immunity boosting medicines after recovery. The new protocol states that recovered patients should continue to practise “Covid-appropriate behaviour” at the individual level that includes wearing a mask, hand hygiene and following social distancing norms. There is a wide variation in recovery and in some cases, patients have taken several weeks to fully recoup. Doctors are also watching out for long-term effects.
