J&K, Haryana Election Results 2024 Live: 'Whenever they lose they question EVMs,' says Assam CM Himanta
Election Results Haryana and Jammu Kashmir Live: The Congress raised concerns over alleged irregularities in some Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) during the counting of votes for the Haryana assembly elections and demanded an investigation into these discrepancies. The party has requested the Election Commission (EC) to seal and secure the EVMs in question until the inquiry is completed.
A delegation of senior Congress leaders, including former chief ministers Bhupinder Singh Hooda and Ashok Gehlot, along with AICC representatives K C Venugopal, Jairam Ramesh, Ajay Maken, and Pawan Khera, as well as Haryana Congress chief Udai Bhan, met with top EC officials to discuss the matter. The delegation submitted a memorandum to the officials, detailing specific complaints from various constituencies in Haryana. Senior party leader Abhishek Singhvi participated in the meeting virtually.
The Congress leaders claimed that there are at least 20 complaints, with seven of them in writing, from different assembly constituencies. Many of these complaints referred to EVMs functioning at 99 per cent battery capacity, while the average EVMs were found to be operating at 60 to 70 per cent battery capacity during the counting process.
Former chief minister Hooda expressed surprise at the Haryana results, stating that everyone believed the Congress would form the next government in the state. He pointed out that the Congress was winning during the counting of postal ballots, but the situation changed when the counting of EVMs began. Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan asserted that the BJP's impending triumph in the Haryana elections demonstrates the failure of the Congress' strategy to sow division in society. Chouhan claimed that the election results reflect the welfare measures implemented by the central government for farmers and various other groups under the guidance of Prime Minister Modi, indicating that Rahul Gandhi's insincere concern for the people was laid bare.

With the latest trends in the Jammu Kashmir Assembly vote counting showing the National Conference- Congress alliance leading more than half the seats, National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah on Tuesday said that he was happy that the people made National Congress win with their votes.
"We should wait for the final results to come. Only after that we can say something. As of now, I am really happy that NC has got victory and we are thankful to the voters. People have supported us more than we expected. It will now be our efforts to prove that we are worth these votes," Abdullah said.
Further, he said that efforts were made by the competitors to completely finish the National Conference party over the last five years.

National Conference (NC) youth president Salman Ali Sagar scored his maiden victory in assembly polls on Tuesday as he defeated PDP leader Asiea Naqash by a margin of more than 10,000 votes from the Hazratbal seat in Jammu and Kashmir.

Following the Election Commission's latest trends indicating a clean sweep for BJP in Haryana, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor on Tuesday asked to wait for the final results adding that the people should not make a premature conclusion.
The Congress leader said that the trends in Haryana are not according to their expectations, however, Jammu and Kashmir's trends are better than they thought.
"We have to wait and see...We shouldn't make a premature conclusion right now...At the moment, they (BJP) seem to be leading in a majority of the seats (in Haryana) which is a genuine surprise. Certainly, the whole exit poll industry must be in a deep disgrace...Honestly, let us wait for the final results...My own feeling is that the signs in Haryana are not what we were expecting and are better than what INDIA block was expecting in Jammu & Kashmir," Tharoor said.

Uttar Pradesh deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak on Tuesday thanked the public of Jammu Kashmir and Haryana for voting in favour of Bharatiya Janata Party.
Pathak said "I thank the public of Jammu Kashmir and Haryana for voting in favour of BJP. This is a victory of the public welfare schemes launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This is the third time that the people of Haryana have voted for BJP in the state."
Further, Pathak said that he was confident that in Uttar Pradesh bypolls as well, the BJP party would secure all 10 seats.
"No matter which party contests for the election, I am sure it is the BJP party that would secure all the 10 seats," Pathak added.

On Haryana, J&K election trends, Congress leader Pawan Khera says, "There is a mismatch in the actual number of rounds counted and the number of rounds being shown on the television through the Election Commission data. The EC data is lagging behind, they are still showing 4th or the 5th found data while 11 rounds have been counted. Our General Secretary Communications has tweeted to the Election Commission asking - are trying to put pressure on the local administration by delaying the display and uploading of data. In J&K you are getting live data with every round counted but in Haryana, it is not so."

The Congress raised concerns over alleged irregularities in some Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) during the counting of votes for the Haryana assembly elections and demanded an investigation into these discrepancies. The party has requested the Election Commission (EC) to seal and secure the EVMs in question until the inquiry is completed.
A delegation of senior Congress leaders, including former chief ministers Bhupinder Singh Hooda and Ashok Gehlot, along with AICC representatives K C Venugopal, Jairam Ramesh, Ajay Maken, and Pawan Khera, as well as Haryana Congress chief Udai Bhan, met with top EC officials to discuss the matter. The delegation submitted a memorandum to the officials, detailing specific complaints from various constituencies in Haryana. Senior party leader Abhishek Singhvi participated in the meeting virtually.
The Congress leaders claimed that there are at least 20 complaints, with seven of them in writing, from different assembly constituencies. Many of these complaints referred to EVMs functioning at 99 per cent battery capacity, while the average EVMs were found to be operating at 60 to 70 per cent battery capacity during the counting process.
Former chief minister Hooda expressed surprise at the Haryana results, stating that everyone believed the Congress would form the next government in the state. He pointed out that the Congress was winning during the counting of postal ballots, but the situation changed when the counting of EVMs began.
