Sanat Sardar of the Bharatiya Janata Party has won the Sandeshkhali constituency with 1,07,189 votes. He defeated Jharna Sardar of the All India Trinamool Congress, who secured 89,679 votes, by a margin of 17,510 votes.Sandeshkhali is a Scheduled Tribe-reserved constituency in North 24 Parganas, part of the Basirhat Lok Sabha seat. It is a fully rural constituency on the edge of the Sundarbans, with 100 per cent rural population and around 25 per cent ST voters. It gained national attention in 2024 over allegations of land grab and sexual violence. In 2026, TMC has fielded Jahana Sardar against BJP's Sanat Sardar.In 2021, TMC's Sukumar Mahata won with 1,12,450 votes, defeating BJP's Dr Bhaskar Sardar by 39,685 votes. In 2016, Mahata also held the seat with 96,556 votes. In 2011, CPI(M)'s Nirapada Sardar had won by a narrow 4,232 votes.
