Sri Lanka Economic Crisis: Sri Lankan parties agree to form all-party interim govt after Rajapaksa's resignation
Sri Lanka Crisis live: Sri Lankan parties have agreed to form an all-party interim government after President Gotabaya Rajapaksa's anticipated resignation on Wednesday. Embattled Rajapaksa, whose location is still unknown since the protesters overran both his office and the official residence, has ordered officials to ensure the smooth distribution of cooking gas. Sri Lankan Army chief General Shavendra Silva today said that there is an opportunity to resolve the current political crisis in a peaceful manner, seeking people's support. Meanwhile, three persons have been arrested for setting the Sri Lanka PM's residence on fire. Stay with TOI for more updates

Sri Lanka is shaped like a teardrop falling from Southern India. The image belies the spirit of the island nation’s happy people. So to see it wracked by economic woes that defines a failed state, after decades of insurgency that it defeated (albeit in the ugliest manner possible) is heartbreaking.
