Tiruchengodu Assembly constituency is located in Namakkal district of Tamil Nadu and forms part of the Namakkal Lok Sabha constituency. In 2026 assembly polls, Arunraj KG of TVK emerged as the winner after securing 79,500 votes, beating AIADMK candidate SRMT Sekar Chandrasekar R by 28, 172 votes. The AIADMK candidate had secured 51,328 votes.
The seat lies in the Kongu region of western Tamil Nadu and has witnessed electoral contests involving the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), and regional parties such as the Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK), reflecting the changing alliance dynamics in the area.
In the 2016 Assembly elections, the constituency had 2,16,720 electors, with 1,76,564 valid votes polled.
AIADMK candidate Saraswathi Pon secured victory with 73,103 votes, defeating DMK candidate Elangoavan Bar, who polled 69,713 votes. The margin of victory stood at 3,390 votes, indicating a closely contested election between the two major Dravidian parties.
Earlier, in the 2011 Assembly elections, Tiruchengodu had 1,82,669 electors, with 1,49,845 valid votes recorded. Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) candidate Sampathkumar P won the seat with 78,103 votes, defeating Indian National Congress candidate Sundaram M R, who secured 54,158 votes. The winning margin stood at 23,945 votes, reflecting the influence of regional parties during that election cycle.
