'Both in India and Russia, there're lot of qualified specialists who are in demand across the globe': Yaroslav Lissovolik, founder, Brics+ Analytics, member of the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC)
"The way to address this is to explore all of the opportunities in mutual trade. Not all of the opportunities are fully explored. The imbalance in bilateral trade was raised as an issue by India several months ago at the Brics meeting... This is not just an imbalance with Russia; this is an imbalance with some of the other Brics economies... Some of the possible solutions include mutual trade liberalisation and a greater presence of Indian goods in the markets of Brics economies," he said.
"Types of exports that are very strong and very important coming from India... Another spirit that hasn't been targeted to a greater degree before is services and the possibility to cooperate and trade in the services sector, including IT and AI-related services. During this visit, the Russian president has already indicated that AI cooperation could be an important area. Both in India and in Russia, there are a lot of qualified specialists who are in demand across the globe. There is tremendous scope for cooperation in such areas that can even out these imbalances... There's still a low base of the overall volume of trade and the degree to which the trade opportunities are being explored. There is a lot more that could be done on both sides," he added.
