Samsung has announced the rollout of its Certified Re-Newed programme in India, offering refurbished Galaxy smartphones with assured quality, performance, and value at more accessible price points. Devices under the programme undergo a comprehensive in-house refurbishment process, including:
  • Detailed inspection and functional testing

  • Restoration with genuine parts
  • Complete data reset for user privacy
  • Packaging in new boxes with a one-year manufacturer warranty
According to Sumit Walia, vice president, Head of D2C Business & Corporate Marketing at Samsung India, “The Certified Re-Newed programme reflects our approach by offering a trusted pathway to premium experiences at more accessible price points. We are focused on expanding access to our technology while maintaining the quality and reliability that consumers expect from Galaxy devices.”

Samsung smartwatches will soon predict when their user is about to faint

Recently, Samsung revealed that it may soon enable its smartwatches to predict when a user is about to faint. This follows results from a joint clinical study conducted with Chung-Ang University Gwangmyeong Hospital. According to the findings, future Galaxy Watch devices may offer early warnings for vasovagal syncope (VVS), a condition that causes sudden drops in heart rate and blood pressure, leading to a temporary loss of consciousness. The study used biosignals collected from the Galaxy Watch6 and applied artificial intelligence to detect patterns associated with fainting episodes, indicating a shift toward preventive healthcare enabled by wearable devices.
