In Nashik, India, the regional transport office (RTO) registered six times more electric vehicles in 2022 than in 2021. Officials said that this is likely due to the increased availability of electric vehicles in the market and the rising fuel prices. They also said that people are becoming more aware of the environmental benefits of electric vehicles, and this is driving the increase in sales. Motorcycles and scooters accounted for the majority of electric vehicle registrations in Nashik, while mopeds and motor cars accounted for a smaller percentage.
