Indian-origin Jagdeep Singh arrested in Canada for threatening man with a fake gun<i></i>
20-year-old Jagdeep Singh, believed to be an Indian-origin man from Brampton, was arrested by the Peel Police for following and threatening a transit rider with a fake gun. The police said that the incident took place on Saturday when the victim exited a transit bus in the area of Chinguacousy Road and Drinkwater Road.Singh followed the victim and told him that he was in possession of a firearm. The victim immediately called the police. Officers located Singh a short distance away. During the interaction, the suspect allegedly produced a fake gun and tosses it into a snowbank. Police say the accused was also found in possession of a backpack containing bundles of rope, rolls of tape, gloves, and two knives.Singh has been charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and conspiracy to commit an indictable offence. None of the charges have been tested in court but police say he was held for a bail hearing.
