ALLAHABAD: A team on Ganga pollution, headed by amicus curie appointed by high court, Arun Gupta, visited the various sewage treatment plants (STP) and Daraganj on Monday and found reddish particles of filth falling in the Ganga.
These particles are now deposited around the Sangam area, which has become a matter of concern for all. The STPs where the team visited included the one located at Numaiyadih and second at Pongal on the banks of the Ganga.
Thereafter, the team visited Daraganj located on the bank of the Ganga, where too it found such particles falling in the river. Those who accompanied the amicus curie included member of National Ganga River Basin Authority Kamlesh Singh, Mohd Iqbal and Devendra Tiwari. The members of team informed that they would submit their report before the court hearing the PIL relating to the river Ganga.
