Tensions escalate in YSRCP-TDP, Avinash Reddy's bribery claims against B. Tech Ravi spark war of words

TIRUPATI: Kadapa YSRCP MP YS Avinash Reddy and former TDP MLC Mareddy Ravindra Reddy (B. Tech Ravi) traded sensational accusations on each other on Tuesday.During a party workers meeting held at Pulivendula on Tuesday, Avinash Reddy made a startling revelation that B. Tech Reddy approached YSRCP former MP V. Vijayasai Reddy at New Delhi when the YSRCP was in power and had offered to trade his MLC seat for ₹12 cr and that he was even willing to join the YSRCP subsequently.“When B. Tech Ravi came up with this proposal to Vijayasai Reddy, Jagan Mohan Reddy did not entertain and turned down the proposal, and as such his attempts did not materialize. This is B. Tech Ravi’s character, and once again if the YSRCP was to come back to power tomorrow, he would do the same thing again”, Avinash Reddy alleged.Responding strongly to the allegations levelled against him by Avinash Reddy at a press conference held at Pulivendula on Tuesday, B. Tech Ravi made it categorical that he was not for sale.“The YSRCP made desperate attempts to buy over TDP MLCs by offering to stall the progress of the Amaravati bill. When we learned about the offers they were extending, this information was passed on to our party president, who asked me to continue the dialogue to understand who else from the party was involved. While some leaders like Pothula Sunitha and others did extend their support to the YSRCP, I voted in support of the Amaravati bill,” B. Tech Ravi clarified.The TDP leader levelled two fresh allegations against Avinash Reddy. “In 2014, YS Avinash Reddy, his father YS Bhaskar Reddy, Devireddy Sivashankar Reddy and Danthuluri Krishna sat with me at Ulimerlathota and offered me the Kasunuru MPTC seat unanimously on a TDP ticket without putting up an electoral fight. I dare Avinash Reddy to explain why they offered me the Kasunuru MPTC seat.”“Similarly, YS Avinash Reddy and his group, who were desperate for YS Vivekananda Reddy’s defeat, passed on critical information related to disgruntled leaders, whom we were able to poach from the YSRCP and cement my victory in the 2017 MLC elections,” B. Tech Ravi alleged.Shifting his focus to the YS Vivekananda Reddy murder case, B. Tech Ravi alleged that when he, along with C. Adinarayana Reddy, filed a petition in the court demanding a CBI enquiry in the case, Avinash Reddy’s men had approached him with an offer. “They came to me offering a blank cheque if we withdrew our petitions and went silent. But since we did not budge, the case subsequently went to the CBI and today both Avinash Reddy and his father, Bhaskar Reddy have been named as accused in the case by the CBI,” B. Tech Ravi alleged.
