9-year-old girl dies after getting entangled in swing in Beed
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: A nine-year-old girl died after the rope of a swing tightened around her neck when she lost balance while playing at her home at the taluka place of Majalgaon in Beed district, around 150km from here, around 10.30am on Tuesday.The victim, Vrinda Rudrawar, a Class II student, was playing on the upper floor of the house with her four-year-old sister when the accident occurred."The school was off on the occasion of Mahavir Jayanti. While playing, Vrinda climbed onto a chair to reach the swing. However, the chair tipped over, causing Vrinda to lose her balance, and the swing's rope somehow got wrapped around her neck and tightened," one of the uncles of the girl said, requesting anonymity.The incident came to light when the girl's mother came to check on her and found her suspended by the rope. The Rudrawar family, a famous business family in the town, rushed her to a doctor, who declared the girl dead.Last rites were performed at Majalgaon on Tuesday evening. When contacted, Rahul Suryatal , the in-charge of the Majalgaon police station, said neither the Rudrawar family nor their acquaintances had reported the incident. "We have not received a report of any medico-legal case from any hospital either," he said.
