Class 11 student shoots at his 17yofriend while filming reel, absconds

Bareilly: A Class 11 student allegedly shot at his friend with an airgun while they were filming a social media reel in Miranpur Katra area of UP's Shahjahanpur district.Police said Naitik Jaiswal was shot in the chest and is currently in a critical condition. The accused student is on the run.The incident took place around 5pm on Saturday evening when the teenager came to Naitik's house in Mohalla Kahran Bajariya and took him for a bike ride. According to police, the two were shooting a reel with an airgun when the loaded weapon might have gone off. Prima facie, it may have struck Naitik by "mistake and the accused fled out of fear", police added.After being shot, Naitik managed to somehow return home and his shocked family took him to a private hospital in Shahjahanpur and from there shifted him to a health facility in Bareilly.SSP Sahajahanpur Rajesh Dwivedi said, "Exact circumstances leading to the firing incident are under investigation."A senior officer added that a case will be filed once police receive a written complaint from the victim's family.
