Karnataka Lok Sabha Election Results 2024 Live: Counting for all the 28 seats is completed in Karnataka. BJP wins 17 seats, Congress 9 and JD(S) 2 out of 28 seats in Karnataka in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Over 13,000 polling staff deployed at 29 counting centres.

Extensive preparations have been made for the counting of votes in Karnataka's 28 Lok Sabha constituencies today. Officials have confirmed that over 13,000 personnel have been assigned to 29 counting centers across the state to ensure a smooth and efficient process.

The state's Lok Sabha constituencies were divided into two phases for polling. The first phase of polling in the 14 seats in most of the southern and coastal districts was held on April 26 and the second phase in the other 14 segments in the northern districts was held on May 7. Each constituency has been allocated one dedicated counting center.

The deployment of a large number of staff and the establishment of counting centers in each constituency demonstrate the authorities' commitment to conducting a fair and transparent vote-counting process. The results of the Lok Sabha elections in Karnataka are eagerly awaited by political parties and citizens alike.

Commenting on the 'below-par' performance by the BJP-led NDA in the Lok Sabha elections, Karnataka Congress President and deputy CM DK Shivakumar said on Tuesday that “our leaders are holding meetings, anything can happen in Indian politics".

Speaking to reporters here, Shivakumar said, "The BJP has failed to get a majority on its own and they have to accept the verdict. People have rejected their strategy of breaking parties in Maharashtra. People have also rejected the politics of emotion.”

He added that the BJP was saying that it would win more than 400 seats, but it has fallen way short of that.

"The results clearly show that there is no Narendra Modi wave, or Ram Mandir wave even in North India. The BJP has lost even in Ayodhya," Shivakumar said.

Karnataka Election Results 2024 Live Updates: Three women candidates win in LS polls in Karnataka

Three women candidates from Karnataka will represent the state in the Lok Sabha with BJP leader Shobha Karandlaje becoming the first-ever woman MP from Bengaluru while debutants from Congress -- Prabha Mallikarjun and Priyanka Jarkiholi --posted wins from Davangere and Chikkodi, respectively, on Tuesday. The Congress had fielded six women while the BJP had picked two women candidates in the state, which has a total of 28 Lok Sabha seats.

Union Minister Karandlaje won by a margin of 2,59,476 votes in Bengaluru North constituency defeating Congress candidate M V Rajeev Gowda.

Out of the six candidates fielded by Congress, Prabha Mallikarjun who made her electoral debut, became the first-ever woman MP from Davangere. Coming from a political family and canvassing for Congress candidates for two decades and more in the past elections there, she defeated BJP's Gayathri Siddeshwara by a margin of 26,094 votes.

Lok Sabha election results: Stalin sees anti-Modi wave across India

“I know my height,” Tamil Nadu chief minister M K Stalin repeated this famous statement of his father and former chief minister M Karunanidhi when asked about his aspirations for a national-level political role.

Addressing reporters on Tuesday evening after the Lok Sabha election results, Stalin said he would leave for New Delhi on Wednesday morning to take part in an INDIA bloc meeting.

He thanked the efforts made by INDIA leaders and cadres to defeat fascism and to safeguard democracy and the Constitution.

“In the last elections our alliance won 39 seats out of 40 in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. Now people have rewarded us with 40 out of 40,” said Stalin, dedicating the victory to his father Karunanidhi.

“They said lotus would bloom in Tamil Nadu. But it has been disproved. It has failed to bloom in Tamil Nadu,” he said. There has been an anti-Modi wave across the nation, but it was a little more pronounced in Tamil Nadu.

“The anti-Modi opposition wave has been fully expressed in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, and that is the reason why we have won all the 40 seats,” he said.

“BJP has now been pushed to a position where they do not have a majority to form the govt,” he said.

Karnataka Election Results 2024 Live Updates: BJP wins 15 seats in Karnataka, leading in two more

Former Karnataka chief minister Basavaraj Bommai and H D Kumaraswamy, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi, and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge's son-in-law Radhakrishna Doddamani are among those who have won the Lok Sabha polls in Karnataka for which counting was taken up on Tuesday.

Suspended JD(S) leader and MP Prajwal Revanna, who is facing charges of sexually abusing several women, and Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar's brother and MP D K Suresh lost the polls.

According to data available from the Election Commission so far, BJP has won 15 seats and is leading in two other segments.

The ruling Congress in Karnataka has won eight seats and is leading in one, while JD(S) has won two seats.

Kumaraswamy won the Mandya seat by a margin of 2,84,620 votes, defeating Venkataramane Gowda (popularly known as Star Chandru) of the Congress.

JD(S) fought the Lok Sabha polls in alliance with BJP in Karnataka.
