BANGALORE: A trivial altercation over spraying water on a rangoli on Tuesday morning ended in the death of a 23-year-old youth in Chickballapur police limits.
Sharath Kumar, a resident of Bull Temple Road, Tyagarajanagar, allegedly jumped from the Tipu drop in Nandi Hills, located around 70 km from the city, on Tuesday evening.
The incident took a dramatic turn as Sharath, before allegedly jumping from the peak situated around 4,800 feet from sea level, handed over his mobile phone to the driver of the auto he had hired from Nandi village.

"He had asked the auto driver to click his photos. As the driver was doing so, Sharath jumped and his body vanished in the dense growth," said Chickballapur police who have registered a case of suicide. Sharath's body was recovered on Wednesday.
Tracing the background, police said that Sharath's mother on Tuesday morning had accidentally sprayed water over the rangoli that was designed by her neighbour. Soon a verbal altercation broke out between the two women and Sharath pacified them. Later, he quarrelled with his mother over the same issue and left his residence around 11 am. He reached Nandi village by a bus and hired an auto in which he reached the top and then allegedly took the extreme step.
