2 workers killed in accident

Kendrapada: Two construction workers were killed and two injured after the pickup-van they were travelling in skidded off the road and overturned at Mugakani village under Rajnagar police station in Kendrapada district on Wednesday afternoon. The victims were identified as Sumant Mohanty (40) of Gokhani village and Kumar Barik (42) of Chinchani village. The accident took place when the victims and other workers were returning to their villages after work. The skidded off the road, overturned plunged into the roadside agricultural land, said IIC of Rajnagar police station Naresh Kumar Sahoo.Many locals rushed to the spot and admitted all four to the community health centre at Rajnagar where doctors declared two persons dead. Both the injured persons, Gouranga Mandal and Arjun Barik , are now undergoing treatment in the hospital at Rajnagar, added the police officer. Police seized the bodies and sent them to the district headquarters hospital at Kendrapada for autopsy.
