KAPURTHALA: Amid growing impression that the Punjab government was reviewing or delaying implementation of important decisions under pressure from one of the alliance partners,
BJP, chief minister
Parkash Singh Badal said in Kapurthala on Friday that all decisions were being taken unanimously by SAD-BJP leaders and there was hardly any difference between them on any issue.
He said the fact that there was no dissension in the decisions taken by the cabinet reflected that the alliance government was working efficaciously. CM also claimed that there was no pressure from BJP on the decisions of the state government. He further said due to the efforts of the ruling alliance, Punjab was marching forward on the path of unprecedented development.
Badal was responding to queries that Akali Dal-led state government was announcing its decisions, but these were then being reviewed after BJP leaders expressed dissent and exerted pressure.
Recently, the state government had to review its policy on regularization of illegal colonies, after BJP expressed its reservations about some provisions of the policy. Now, the state has delayed implementation of e-Trip system as traders - a key constituency of BJP - opposed it strongly. Meanwhile, chief minister Badal said that being a key ally of the NDA, SAD would go along with the BJP's choice for the prime ministerial candidate. Talking to the mediapersons after administering oath to sarpanchs and panchs of Kapurthala district, he said deciding the PM candidate was an internal matter of BJP, adding that his party would support any person chosen by BJP.
