Times News NetworkChandigarh: To strengthen the electoral verification process and ensure accuracy in voter list management, separate review meetings regarding electoral roll verification and coordination among booth-level officers (BLOs) and booth-level agents (BLAs) were held on Wednesday.During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on various aspects related to electoral roll verification, including mapping and inclusion of eligible voters, coordination between BLOs and BLAs, and maintaining transparency and accuracy in the voter list management process.The officers concerned emphasized the importance of timely verification, effective field-level coordination, and seamless communication among all stakeholders to ensure smooth and error-free electoral administration. They highlighted that accurate and updated electoral rolls were vital for strengthening the democratic process and ensuring maximum voter participation.All BLOs were directed to remain in close coordination with their respective BLAs and ensure prompt resolution of discrepancies related to electoral rolls. Necessary instructions were also issued regarding effective implementation of the ongoing verification drive and strengthening monitoring mechanisms at the ground level.
The officers further stressed upon the need for dedicated and sincere efforts to ensure that no eligible voter was left out of the electoral rolls and that the voter database remained updated, transparent and error-free.Box: Chief engg reviews sewerage systems in Khuda Lahora, Khuda AlisherTo strengthen civic infrastructure and address public grievances related to sewerage and drainage issues, municipal chief engineer Sanjay Arora on Wednesday reviewed the sewerage systems and ongoing development works in Khuda Lahora and Khuda Alisher. During the inspection, a detailed review was undertaken regarding issues of blockage in the sewerage system on the Khuda Lahora-Khuda Alisher road. The officers also inspected the ongoing and proposed works related to the upgradation of the storm water drainage system in Khuda Lahora to ensure better drainage management and prevention of waterlogging during the rainy season. The progress of paver block works being carried out in the area was also reviewed during the visit.
