Hooda convenes meeting to discuss ‘future strategy’
Chandigarh: Leader of the opposition in Haryana assembly, Bhupinder Singh Hooda, on Tuesday convened a strategic meeting with Congress MLAs in Chandigarh to discuss key public issues and chalk out the party's future political strategy in the state. The meeting was organised within two days after former MP Brijendera Singh completed his ‘Sadbhav Yatra' in Rohtak. The former CM and his loyalist MLAs had refrained from the yatra.During the meeting, party legislators expressed concern over rising petrol and diesel prices, inflation, unemployment and the alleged recruitment of outsiders in Haryana govt jobs. The MLAs also highlighted deteriorating law and order, the ongoing sanitation workers' strike, resentment among govt employees and alleged administrative scams under the BJP govt.Farmers' issues, including demands for the minimum support price (MSP) guarantees and fertiliser shortages, were also discussed in detail. Legislators further raised concerns over worsening power and water supply conditions in several districts of the state. After reviewing feedback from party leaders, the Congress decided to convene a meeting of the Haryana Congress Legislature Party (CLP) on June 3 in Chandigarh. The party is expected to finalise its political roadmap and formulate a strategy to intensify its campaign against the BJP govt, both inside the assembly and outside.Meanwhile, a high-level Haryana Congress organisational meeting has also been scheduled for May 27 under the leadership of Hooda and HPCC chief Rao Narendra Singh.MSID:: 131331631 413 |
