VB arrests Moga revenue officer’s staff
Bathinda: The Punjab vigilance bureau (VB) on Monday arrested Moga district revenue officer's reader, Davinder Pal Singh, for allegedly accepting a Rs 20,000 bribe. A VB spokesperson said the arrest followed a complaint by a resident of Chak Kanian Khurd village in Dharamkot tehsil.According to the complaint, the complainant's son had a pending land partition case involving 13 acres before the DRO in Moga. The accused allegedly demanded Rs 1 lakh to settle the matter within five-six months and sought Rs 50,000 as advance. The complainant allegedly recorded the conversation and approached the VB. TNNActing on the complaint, the VB laid a trap and arrested the accused red-handed while accepting Rs 20,000 from the complainant in the presence of two witnesses.The VB registered a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act at its Ferozepur police station and launched further investigation.
