Chennai: The Tamil Nadu Police launched a statewide foot patrol initiative to strengthen law and order, prevent crime, enhance the safety of women and children, intensify action against narcotics, and improve visible policing. The initiative involves senior officers from the rank of Station House Officer to Superintendent of Police and Deputy Commissioner of Police.
The patrol was undertaken on the instructions of DGP and Head of Police Force Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal. Police headquarters said the patrols enabled senior officers to personally assess conditions in sensitive areas, interact with residents, receive feedback, understand concerns, and initiate immediate corrective measures wherever required.
