Chennai: Two boys were killed in a building collapse at Ilankadu village in Tiruvannamalai district on Friday.Condoling the deaths, chief minister M K Stalin announced a solatium of 3 lakh each to their families.

According to a statement, M Munusamy of Ilankadu demolished his old house to construct a new one. Abinesh (16) and Mukesh (14), sons of Mohan, were caught in the debris when a portion of the structure collapsed around 7 am on Friday. They sustained grievous injuries and died on the spot. An eight year old boy, S Sriram was also injured in the incident and has been admitted to the govt hospital in Vandavasi. "I was shocked and saddened to hear about the death of the 2 boys. I extend my condolences to the parents of the boys. I instructed officials to ensure the best possible treatment for the injured child," Stalin said in the statement.
