28yo woman found dead in Doon, police suspect ‘drug overdose’

Dehradun: A 28-year-old woman was found dead inside a dilapidated house in a forested area of Dehradun's Raipur locality on Monday, with police suspecting drug overdose.Senior officers, including the SP (City) and SP (Rural–Vikasnagar), visited the spot during the preliminary probe. The deceased was identified, and her family members were informed.Police said the woman had a history of drug addiction and had returned home from a rehabilitation centre around 15 days ago. Her family told investigators that she had left home three days ago.Officials said the deceased had married three years ago and had a two-year-old son. Her husband, who is also a drug addict, is currently undergoing treatment at another rehabilitation centre.SSP Pramendra Dobal said the initial investigation suggests a possible drug overdose. "The body has been sent to a nearby hospital for a post-mortem examination. A probe is underway," Dobal said.In a separate incident earlier on Wednesday, police found the body of another woman stuffed inside a plastic sack in a forested area of Premnagar in Dehradun. Police said the body appeared to be three to four days old and that the woman was around 35 years old. Her identity is yet to be ascertained.
