‘Adequate LPG stocks in U’khand’
Dehradun: Amid concerns over global LPG shortage triggered by the ongoing US–Israel–Iran conflict, Uttarakhand chief secretary Anand Bardhan on Monday reviewed the state's supply situation. During a meeting with officials of the food, civil supplies and consumer affairs department, Bardhan was informed that LPG supply across the state remains sufficient and is being provided to consumers as per demand.District magistrates (DMs) from all districts also joined the review meeting virtually. Bardhan sought feedback from the districts and directed officials to ensure that the gas supply to consumers remains uninterrupted under all circumstances. He also warned against black-marketing and hoarding of LPG and other essential commodities, directing authorities to carry out regular raids, stock inspections and surveillance drives.Officials presented details of enforcement actions taken in various districts, including raids, FIRs and inspections. Bardhan asked DMs to maintain close coordination with gas companies and distributors and keep strict surveillance to ensure smooth supply and prevent illegal trade.
