Dehradun: To curb black marketing of LPG gas and ensure 100% home delivery, area-wise Quick Response Teams (QRTs) have been constituted across Dehradun district on Monday, following directives by district magistrate Savin Bansal.
While inspecting various gas agencies within their respective zones, these QRTs monitored all activities related demand, supply, and distribution. The DM is personally monitoring the backlog in gas supply and distribution.
On Monday, QRTs inspected 69 gas agencies and 25 commercial establishments in the district. Notably, five domestic gas cylinders have been seized from commercial establishments in Vikasnagar area.
SP (City) has been designated as the nodal officer to address any requirements for additional police force by the QRTs -- formed under the chairmanship of sub-divisional magistrates.
Additional DM (Finance and Revenue) K K Mishra is monitoring gas distribution and supply across the district from the control room, as well as ensuring resolution of public grievances. By 5 pm Monday, a total of 64 complaints regarding LPG gas supply had been registered through the helpline numbers — 1077, 0135-2626066, 2726066, and WhatsApp number 7534826066.
Meanwhile, officials from the district food supply department—stationed at the control room—are ensuring immediate action on issues concerning supply, cylinder availability or any other related problems. Approximately 14,899 domestic consumers and 63 commercial consumers in the district received gas cylinders during the day.
At the end of the day, a backlog of approximately 80,000 domestic gas cylinders still remains. Adequate stock is currently available and instructions have been issued to gas companies to increase supply to meet the demand, said officials.
