Breaking News Today Live Updates: Pran Pratishtha of Ram Darbar concludes at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya

A spiritually charged atmosphere gripped Ayodhya today as the Pran Pratishtha (consecration) of Shri Ram Darbar and other deities concluded in the presence of Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath.

Held on Ganga Dussehra, the ceremony marked the end of a three-day ritual at the Ram Janmabhoomi complex. Vedic chants, conch shells, and Acharyas’ mantras echoed across the city.

Rituals began at 6.30am with deity worship at the Yagya Mandap, followed by a havan at 9am The event saw the use of audio-visual technology to link multiple shrines, enabling simultaneous consecration in accordance with Vedic muhurta.

Deities consecrated included Shri Ram Darbar, Sheshavatar, Shiva, Ganesh Ji, Hanuman Ji, Surya Dev, Maa Bhagwati, and Annapurna Mata.

The event ended with a special Aarti and Bhandara, attended by saints, scholars, Trust officials, and thousands of devotees. The occasion also coincided with CM Yogi’s birthday, for which he sought blessings from Lord Shri Ram.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is participating in the 'Pran Pratishtha' of the Ram Darbar at the first floor of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple. Sharing a social media post, CM Yogi said that he is fortunate to witness the 'Pran Pratishtha' program. He called it an expression of 'Ek Bharat Shreshth Bharat' (One India Excellent India).

Taking to X, he wrote, "Today, in the holy birthplace of Lord Shri Ram, Ayodhya Dham, I am getting the great fortune of becoming a witness to the program organised for the Pran-Pratishtha of the holy idols of gods in the eight temples including Shri Ram Darbar on the first floor of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple. This auspicious occasion is a new expression of 'Ek Bharat-Shrestha Bharat'. Victory to Siyavar Shri Ramachandra!"

June 5 marks the third day of the 'Pran Pratishtha' program, which began on June 3. Sharing the updates on X, Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust wrote, "On the first day of the Pran Pratishtha ceremonies, various Vedic rituals were ceremoniously initiated in the Yagyashala for the Pratishtha of Shri Ram Darbar on the first floor of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir, as well as for the other deities in the surrounding Ashta Devalayas."

The rituals continued on the second day of the event. Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra wrote on X, "On the second day of the Pran Pratishtha anushthan, various adhivas were performed, and the utsav vigrahas were taken on a Parikrama of the mandir premises. In addition to the Yajna Mandap, rituals were also conducted in the devalayas where the Pran Pratishtha will be carried out."

Meanwhile, CM Yogi is to attend Saryu Jayanti Janmotsav in Ayodhya on June 5, said Mahant Rajkumar Das Maharaj, head of Shriramvallabhkunj. The event will be organised by the Anjaneya Sewa Trust. The event will be held from June 5 to 11, and the week-long celebration will feature devotional events, rituals, and spiritual discourses.

The IMD’s Regional Meteorological Centre issued yellow alerts for Thursday across districts like Tinsukia, Dibrugarh, Golaghat, Dhemaji, Dhubri, Goalpara, South Salmara Mancachar, Karbi Anglong, West Karbi Anglong, Dima Hasao, Cachar, and Hailakandi. Alerts also extend to all districts in Meghalaya, Tripura, Manipur, and parts of Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram.

The flood situation in Assam remains dire, with 21 districts severely affected and impacting 6.79 lakh people as of Wednesday evening. Two more deaths were reported in the past 24 hours— a child in Nagaon and a man in Cachar—bringing the toll to 46 since last Friday, including landslide-related fatalities.

The Central Water Commission reported Wednesday morning that the Brahmaputra river surpassed danger marks at Neamatighat, Tezpur, and Dhubri. Its tributaries Burhidihing and Kopili also flowed above danger levels at multiple locations. In Barak Valley, the Barak River (at Fulertal, BP Ghat, and AP Ghat), Sonai, Rukni, Dhaleswari, Katakhal, and Kushiyara rivers were above danger marks.

Sribhumi in Barak Valley reports 2.59 lakh people affected, while Hailakandi faces the impact with 1.72 lakh and Nagaon with 1.02 lakh individuals. According to ASDMA, 66 revenue circles and nearly 1,500 villages are affected by the floods.

Around 15,000 hectares of agricultural land are under water. Authorities have set up 405 relief camps accommodating over 41,000 people. Rescue efforts have saved 130 individuals using boats, while 111 medical teams are actively deployed in affected regions.

Manipur continues to reel under severe flooding. Breaches in the Imphal River have damaged over 20 homes and submerged residential areas. Assam Rifles launched Operation Jalrahat-2, distributing water in Thambalkhong Leirak, Wangkhei, conducting rescue missions, and organizing medical camps in Khumidok village.

During a high-level task force meeting on Wednesday, Union DoNER Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia reviewed the flood situation with leaders from the Northeast. He posted on X: "Reaffirmed the Centre's full support and readiness to assist the affected states. My team at @MDoNER_India also remains fully committed to extend all necessary assistance ..."

The Assam education department has allowed flood-affected students (non-CUET) to seek admission during the second merit list or spot rounds if they miss their chance in the first merit list. Education Minister Ranoj Pegu posted on X: "students listed in earlier merit lists but unable to take admission due to floods may do so during later merit list rounds or spot admissions". Admissions from the first UG merit list began June 4 with nearly 50,000 students enrolling on the first day. The second merit list will be out by 5pm on June 12.
