Canal desilting work to disrupt traffic in east Delhi till June 30
New Delhi: Commuters travelling through East Delhi are likely to face traffic congestion over the next few weeks as desilting work in the canal drain stretch between LM Bundh, Shastri Nagar and Karkari Mor/Khureji Red Light gets underway.
According to a traffic advisory issued, one carriageway on the Geeta Colony side will remain closed till June 30 to facilitate the work being carried out by the Public Works Department.
The affected stretch is a key arterial link which witnesses heavy movement of office-goers, school buses, commercial vehicles and local traffic throughout the day.
Traffic will be regulated through the available carriageway, while temporary diversion arrangements will remain in place.
