Goa: Congress calls Rohan Khaunte a political 'thug'

PANAJI: The Congress party may have joined hands with the opposition MLAs to take on the BJP government on the Mhadei issue, but that has not stopped the party from attacking the very same allies. On Sunday it was Porvorim MLA Rohan Khaunte’s turn. Congress spokesperson Trajano D’Mello attacked Khaunte, calling him a 'political thug' who was facilitating fraudulent transfer of land.
“My demand is that there should be an SIT under a high court judge into the entire Serula Communidade land transactions because there are a lot of political links including the former revenue minister Rohan Khaunte,” said D’Mello.
The Congressman alleged that the Serula communidade is involved in a big scam which has to be unearthed.
The allegations are based on a 7975 sqmt plot of land in the Serula Communidade for which mutation was applied in the name of Arjuna Vazarkar. Subsequently, through inventory proceeding a fresh mutation dated July 19, 2018 was sought and the entire mutation process was completed within one day.
