No anti-party activities, RG must continue: Borkar
Panaji: Amid a bitter feud between St Andre MLA Viresh Borkar and party president Manoj Parab, party functionaries on Saturday said that RG could wind down its presence in the state. Borkar refused to comment on this development, but said that the party “needs to continue” for the sake of the people.Party insiders claim that a majority of the RG’s internal management is inching towards a move to shut down the party. The party’s central executive committee (CEC) is slated to meet on Sunday.A notice has also reportedly been issued to Borkar for alleged anti-party activities.“All of us need to remain united and RG needs to continue and we need to take this movement with the people. We are all together. There are a lot of allegations being made (about anti-party activity) but there is nothing like that. I am in the party,” said Borkar.“Almost 80% of the CEC members said that the party should be dissolved. How can this happen? There is an MLA on the party symbol, there are two ZP candidates,” said RG core committee member Premanand Gaude.RGP general secretary Vishvesh Naik made an emotional appeal to “save the revolution”, while alleging internal sabotage and attempts to divide party workers amid escalating crisis in the regional outfit.
