Gurgaon: A solar panel maintenance worker died in a late-night collision on Gurgaon-Pataudi road after a bus allegedly entered the wrong carriageway and slammed into the motorcycle he was riding near Sampka village in Pataudi.The crash took place around 10.30pm on Thursday in front of Hafele India Private Limited warehouse. Police said Mangal Prajapati (35) was riding back towards Sampka with his younger brother Rohit after stepping out for personal work when a bus approached from the Pataudi side at high speed, allegedly on the wrong side of the road.According to Rohit’s complaint, the brothers were on motorcycle HR76J/3098 and had nearly stopped after spotting the bus emerge from the side of a warehouse parking area. Rohit alleged they signalled to the driver to let them pass first, but the bus kept moving and hit them head-on within barely 10 to 20 metres of their office.The impact threw Rohit clear, leaving him with minor injuries. Mangal, however, got trapped under the front left side of the bus. While he managed to save the front portion of the motorcycle, the left side of his body was crushed under the tyre, police said. The rear of the bike was badly damaged.
Rohit alleged the driver appeared drunk and said the bus had no passengers. After the collision, the driver abandoned the vehicle and fled. Rohit noted the registration number as HR55AQ/4401 and, with the help of a friend, rushed his brother to CHC Pataudi, where doctors declared him brought dead.Originally from Varanasi, the brothers lived in a rented accommodation in the area for work. Mangal is survived by his wife, a 12-year-old daughter and a 14-year-old son.Police said they received information from CHC Pataudi late on Wednesday night and registered an FIR at Pataudi police station under sections 281 and 106(1) of the BNS against the unidentified bus driver.In another fatal accident hours later, Sujoy Chaudhary (32) died after an unidentified car hit a Rapido bike from behind near Bristol Chowk in DLF Phase-1 early Friday. Police said Sujoy was travelling pillion on bike RJ05BO/3536 from Iffco Chowk towards DLF Phase-1 when the crash occurred on Golf Course Road.The rider, Kali Charan, was injured, while Sujoy later died during treatment at Max Hospital. Police suspect the offending vehicle was a black Scorpio. An FIR was registered.
