One killed, 12 injured in V’nagara accident

Vijayanagara: One person was killed and 12 others were injured in an accident that occurred in the early hours of Thursday on NH-50 near Kudligi town. According to police, a TT vehicle travelling towards Kudligi from Bengaluru was hit from behind by a speeding truck. The impact of the collision left several passengers in the TT vehicle injured. The deceased is Madhu, 27, a native of Andhra Pradesh — the employee of an electronics showroom died on the spot. The injured are being treated at Kudligi Govt Hospital and Ballari Trauma Care Centre. Kudligi DSP Mallesh Dodmani and CPI Prahlad Channagiri visited the spot. Negligence on the part of the truck driver is suspected to have caused the accident. A case has been registered at Kudligi police station. Investigation is on.
