Koppal: A total of Rs 81.9 lakh in cash, along with 169 grams of gold and seven kilograms of silver, was collected from devotees at the Huligemma Devi Temple in Huligi over the past 35 days. The temple comes under the state department of religious endowments. The temple witnesses heavy footfall from across the state and neighbouring states every Tuesday, Friday and on full moon days, while a steady flow of devotees is recorded on a daily basis. The last hundi counting was conducted on March 25, while the latest exercise was carried out on Wednesday. Officials said the counting was part of the routine process. Huligemma Devi Temple Development Authority secretary U H Prakash Rao, deputy secretary Sanna Basavaraj and other staff were present during the counting process.
