HYDERABAD: The
TRS is getting ready for a massive show of strength in Huzurabad. Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has decided to press more ministers, MLAs and other senior leaders into poll campaign as soon as the assembly sessions ends.
KCR would himself address a public meeting some time after Dasara. The CM’s public meeting is likely to be held either in Jammikunta or Illanthakunta as the earlier one was held in Shalapally from where he had launched the ‘Dalit Bandhu’ scheme.
“After the assembly sessions gets over, ministers Srinivas Yadav, Mohd Mahmood Ali, Satyavathi Rathod and senior Dalit leaders such as Kadiyam Srihari are likely to be roped in for the campaign.
The ministers had campaigned for the party during Nagarjuna Sagar bypoll too,” a senior TRS leader said.
TRS sources said that party has conducted at least four surveys in the last five months which have all predicted a win in Huzurabad for the ruling party, but with varying margins. The sources claimed that the party position was improving every day. While TRS president KCR has been in touch with leaders over phone, party working president KTR is said to be talking to leaders on a daily basis. But like in the earlier bypolls in Dubbak and Nagarjuna Sagar, KTR would again stay away from campaigning, party sources said.
The TRS supremo made finance minister T Harish Rao in charge for the bypoll, while ministers Gangula Kamalakar and Koppula Eshwar have been touring the constituency. Senior leaders such as former MP B Vinod Kumar, MLC Palla Rajeshwar Reddy, Karimnagar mayor Sunil Rao and MLAs Balka Suman, Peddi Sudarshan Reddy, Aroori Ramesh, Voditela Satish and others were made in charges for each mandal in the assembly constituency.
