Hyderabad: Several new inscriptions in Telugu, Kannada and Persian have been found in the two Telugu states in the last three months. Telugu inscriptions of Chola, Vijayanagara and Kakatiya periods and other dynasties were found and analysed by director of epigraphy, Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), Mysore.

According to director of epigraphy, ASI, Dr K Muni Ratnam Naidu, the inscription, in Telugu language and characters, dates to October 18, 1436 CE. “It was regarding gift of land to the god by the king,” he said.
A Kannada inscription of 12th century CE was found at Naddivarigudem, Nalgonda. A Persian inscription, engraved on stone and written in Thulth style of calligraphy of 15-16th century CE, was found in Ursu Darga, Karimabad, Warangal. The epitaph says Jalal Mudakkar Shirazi (who lies buried here) seeks prayers from people who have got a big heart.
