Jaipur: A Motor Accident Claims Tribunal (MACT) in Jaipur has dismissed a compensation claim linked to a 2018 road accident, observing that the “offending vehicle was falsely implicated to secure insurance benefits”. The tribunal also ordered action against the investigating police officer, the vehicle owner and the driver.In its May 7, 2026, order, MACT No. 1, Jaipur Metropolitan-II, presided over by Judge Shiv Kumar, rejected the petition filed by Lotika Devi and her family seeking compensation for the death of Gautam Vishwas in an alleged accident involving car number RJ-40-CA-2295 on Nov 18, 2018. Appearing for the insurance company, counsel Jungal Kishor Agarwal argued that the same vehicle was repeatedly shown in several accident claims and alleged that the present petition was fabricated to obtain compensation fraudulently.
